HISTORY

The main building follows the traditional pattern of a mediaeval house and was rebuilt in the last part of the 15th century. The Inglenook bar - once the Main Hall - had fireplace and ceiling added in the 16th century and the fine beams are original.

'The Rose and Crown' was first granted a licence to sell ale in 1612 and can truly claim to be one of Somerset's oldest pubs. In 1976 the name was changed to 'The Bull Terrier' by a previous owner.

Today 'The Bull Terrier' remains an unspoiled village inn serving the local community and visitors alike.
